Day Nine- Mama and Misty's Vacation

This was our relaxation, we have no plan day. It started out pretty slow with sleeping in, catching up in emails, watching a little bit of Gettysburg and doing some laundry. Good times :)

It took us to about 2pm to remember that we were in Washington DC and had things to do. We didn't fly across the United States to take naps and watch movies. We could do that at home and for a lot less money.

We didn't really have a plan and decided that we would just go and see where we ended up. I had a friend who told me that Alexandria was very cool so we hopped on the Metro and that is where we ended up.

I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. It was a beautiful, historic city with plenty of stuff to do. On the pier there was an old torpedo factory that had been converted into an aspiring artist colony. Some of the art work was amazing and we met some really friendly people.

A walk up historic main street took us to the cutest little shops. We just wandered in and out, taking our time. There was even a trolley that gave you free rides up and down he street.

The day was so pleasant and relaxing. It was nice to not have plans and to see where you ended up. Next time you are in DC and have at least half a day, go to Alexandria.
